Reporting Ireland, wherever the story takes us
Our Ireland team delivers comprehensive coverage of news, politics, sport, entertainment and lifestyle from across the Republic of Ireland.
With reporters, videographers and photographers on the ground seven days a week, our team covers the significant stories and events shaping the country - from breaking news and major national moments to the people and communities behind the headlines.
At the heart of Irish politics
The team maintains a permanent presence at the Oireachtas in Dublin, providing authoritative coverage of Irish government and parliamentary affairs, including proceedings in both Dáil Éireann and Seanad Éireann.
Our political reporting also extends beyond the shores of Ireland. Journalists regularly travel overseas to cover official visits and international engagements involving the Taoiseach, Tánaiste and other Irish ministers.
Each March, the team spends a week in the United States covering the annual St Patrick’s programme, which culminates with a series of events with the US President at the White House in Washington DC.
Court coverage
The Ireland team provides regular coverage of significant criminal and civil court cases in Dublin and throughout the country.
International reporting
We have a full-time US Editor in Washington DC, as well as a team in Australia ensuring overnight news coverage.
In recent years, staff have been deployed to conflict zones in Ukraine and Lebanon; to the US, Canada and Mexico for the World Cup; to many European capitals; and to developing countries such as Guatemala, Rwanda and Malawi to report on the work of Irish aid agencies.
