The Brief
PA Media Assignments were contracted to capture behind-the-scenes (BTS) video content and photography as comedian Michael Palin and England footballer Jordan Henderson, and other famous faces, joined NHS staff, patients, and volunteers at the studio of world-renowned photographer RANKIN, who was shooting portrait photos for a new exhibition celebrating 75 years of NHS charities.
The photo exhibition was created ahead of the NHS’ 75 th anniversary on 5 th July, ‘Love and Charity: A History of Giving in the NHS’, with the aim of celebrating the vital role charities have played throughout health service history, and how their contribution has helped make the NHS what it is today.

The Solution
We worked with our client to develop the questions for the BTS content, as we needed to interview all the case studies and talent on the day. Bearing in mind this was Rankin at work in his studio, we had to remain very much in the background, jumping in to capture content, in between his shots. We set up an interview space for the sit-down pieces and had to work nimbly to get all the soundbites we needed.

The Results
The project received blanket coverage and results for our client across print and digital media, including numerous extended pieces on the BBC Breakfast News, ITV, SKY, Evening Standard an many more national and regional titles. The extended video edit was also played to members of the public visiting the exhibition, which was displayed at the Saatchi gallery in London for a month.
